Srinagar, Aug 17 (JKNS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday expressed outrage over the brutal killing of a teenage girl in Ganderbal, terming the crime “barbaric, inhuman and beyond condemnation.”

In a post on X, the Office of the J&K CM, quoted by news agency JKNS, said that Omar Abdullah conveyed his heartfelt sympathies to the grieving family and stressed that those behind the act must face the harshest punishment. “The perpetrators of this heinous crime deserve exemplary action,” the post stated.

Police officials said the 14-year-old girl was allegedly abducted near her residence and later found dead on the Batsar-Sehpora stretch of Ganderbal. Her elder sister, who was with her at the time, narrowly escaped but is under medical care, shaken by the incident.

Meanwhile SSP Ganderbal Khalel Ahmad Poswal said that, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been tasked with probing the case.

The incident has triggered widespread outrage and demands for immediate justice across the Valley. (JKNS)
