Sopore, Aug 17 (JKNS): A new Civil Society Forum has been constituted for Edipora A/B and Bomai/Malpora Padithan areas of Sopore with elected office bearers taking charge.
According to details available with news agency JKNS, the forum has been established to work collectively for addressing public grievances and developmental issues of the locality.
The programme in this regard was held at the Integrated Research Institute of Medicine, Bomai Zaingair, where the office bearers were formally introduced.
Mufti Mohammad Maqbool Kirmani has been appointed as Patron of the forum. Mohammad Ramzan Lone has been chosen as Chairman, while Ghulam Ahmad Wani will serve as Vice Chairman.
Haji Mohammad Ramzan Lone has been appointed as the Second Vice Chairman, with Noor Mohammad Bhat elected as General Secretary and Mohammad Ramzan Bhat as Secretary. Ali Mohammad Sheikh has been designated as Cashier of the forum.
The newly formed Civil Society Forum said it will focus on strengthening coordination among locals and act as a bridge with the administration to resolve pressing issues of the community. (JKNS)
