Srinagar, July 31 (JKNS): The administration of Government Lalla Ded (LD) Hospital Srinagar has prohibited all forms of photography and videography inside the hospital premises, particularly in sensitive areas, to ensure patient confidentiality and dignity.

Medical Superintendent of the hospital, as per news agency JKNS, issued strict instructions to doctors, paramedical staff, and other employees to refrain from making videos or taking photographs within the hospital, especially in labour rooms and operation theatres.

To reinforce the directive, signboards have been installed at various sensitive points across the hospital, warning that videography is strictly prohibited and punishable under law.

The move comes after a video recorded by a doctor inside the maternity hospital surfaced recently, showing restricted areas including the labour room and an active operation theatre, sparking outrage and raising serious concerns over patient privacy and medical ethics. Following the incident, GMC Srinagar has ordered an enquiry into the matter. (JKNS)
