New Delhi, July 31 (JKNS): The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday announced the completion of the preparation of the Electoral College for the upcoming Vice-Presidential Election 2025.
According to a statement issued by the Commission, as per news agency JKNS, the Vice-President of India is elected by an Electoral College comprising elected members of the Rajya Sabha, nominated members of the Rajya Sabha, and elected members of the Lok Sabha, in accordance with Article 66(1) of the Constitution.
The Commission stated that the list of Electoral College members for the Vice-Presidential Election 2025 has been finalized. These members have been listed in a continuous serial order, arranged alphabetically based on the State or Union Territory of their respective Houses.
The ECI further informed that the Electoral College list will be made available for purchase at its counter after the issuance of the notification for the election, which is expected to be announced soon. (JKNS)
