Srinagar, 25 Jul 2025 :   In a significant step towards empowering the youth and women of North Kashmir, a revitalised Chinar Yuva Centre Dangiwacha alongwith State-of-Art Computer Training Lab and two entrepreneurial units for manufacturing Soap, Lip-Balm and Dry Apple was inaugurated on 25 Jul 2025. The event was organised by the Indian Army in collaboration with Civil Administration, NAAM foundation and ASEEM foundation.
The YUVA Centre established by Indian Army in 2009, has been a beacon of hope in North Kashmir, providing vocational and skill-based training to over 1200 youth, including 1025 women. The inauguration of State-of-Art computer lab marks a new milestone in providing digital literacy to the youth.
The Indian Army in one of its unique collaboration effort got together with Civil administration and renowned Pune based NGOs ASEEM & NAAM Foundation, to create training infrastructure and ensure vocational aid in fashion designing and computers through qualified instructors and certification by Maharashtra based Education Society, providing skill based employment opportunities to locals.
The newly constructed computer training lab was inaugurated by Mrs Zarina Akhtar, Veer Nari, wife of Naik (Late) Ghulam Mohd Khan, Vir Chakra, thereby honoring the gallant son of Rafiabad for his supreme sacrifice for the nation during operation Vijay in 1999. The combined efforts of the Indian Army, Civil Administration and NGOs for their shared vision in transforming Kashmir’s future through education, entrepreneurship and empowerment was well appreciated by all. The revitalised YUVA Centre, Dangiwacha reflects the dedication of Indian Army in boosting the peace & prosperity of Jammu & Kashmir.
