Srinagar, Jul 21 (JKNS): In a major boost to Kashmir’s cinema culture, Srinagar’s INOX multiplex is witnessing packed shows once again, this time for Saiyaara, the much-anticipated romantic drama by Yash Raj Films.

The film has triggered the Valley’s biggest cinema craze since Shah Rukh Khan’s blockbuster Pathaan.

According to details available with news agency JKNS stated that the advance bookings for Saiyaara were sold out within two hours of opening, prompting the theatre management to increase the number of daily shows.

“Initially, we planned only two shows, but the response was overwhelming. We had to add three more showsband all of them were houseful on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday,” the INOX Srinagar Manager told JKNS.

The rush continued into Monday, with all shows running to full capacity. Booking status reviewed by JKNS on Monday evening showed that Tuesday’s six shows had only a few seats left. One of Wednesday’s shows was already fully booked, while four more had limited availability.

Directed by Mohit Suri, Saiyaara marks the Bollywood debut of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. Its emotional storyline, coupled with a widely loved title track sung by Kashmiri artists Faheem Abdullah and Arslan Nizami, has struck a deep chord with Valley audiences.

The audience response has mirrored the frenzy seen during Pathaan’s release. According to INOX Srinagar officials, this is the first time since January 2023 that the multiplex has witnessed such an overwhelming turnout.

A viewer remarked that the theatre was “jam-packed just like it was for Pathaan,” adding, “This time I felt more emotionally connected the music felt like it belonged to Kashmir. It’s a proud moment.”

Another viewer Mehak said, It wasn’t just a film, it felt like an experience we could relate to. Seeing our own voices in the soundtrack made it more than just entertainment it felt personal.”

“This wasn’t just a film, it was pure vibes,” Mehak noted.

The title track has gone viral acroos the country especially in Kashmir valley, with its soulful blend of Kashmiri melody and Bollywood romance especially resonating with young viewers.

Social media platforms are abuzz with reels, clips, and comments celebrating both the song and the film’s cultural relevance.—(JKNS)
