DC chairs meeting to review arrangements
BUDGAM: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today chaired a meeting at the Conference Hall of DC office complex to review the arrangements for the upcoming Independence Day-2025 celebrations in the district.
The meeting discussed various arrangements and measures to be taken to ensure the smooth execution of the Independence Day events.
It was given out that besides the main function at sports stadium Budgam, similar functions will also be held at sub divisional and block levels as well as at all schools, colleges and Government Institutions of the district.
DC emphasised the importance of National event and directed the departments to make sure that every arrangement is meticulously planned and executed.
He urged all departments to work in close coordination to ensure the seamless celebration of the Independence Day functions.
DC passed directives to different departments to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place and operational well before the event, besides designating ADC Budgam as the nodal officer for the event.
Chief Medical officer was directed to ensure that emergency medical services are available throughout all the functions.
Directions were also issued to the Jal Shakti department to make arrangements for drinking water facility, KPDCL for power supply, R&B and Irrigation for venue arrangements, DIO for PAS system, EO MCs for cleanliness.
DC further emphasized that celebrations should foster an environment of festivity across the district and directed the Chief Education Officer to organize public and youth engagement activities including cultural and patriotic activities for wider participation of youth and students to foster a sense of patriotism and community engagement in celebrations.
He also directed the concerned officers to ensure smooth movement of traffic and prevent congestion during the event.
DC directed all sectoral and district officers to ensure arrangements for flag hoisting at office premises and also abide by the rules given in flag code.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Budgam Nikhil Borkar assured that all security arrangements will be in place well before the function to maintain law and order.
Among others, the meeting was attended by ADDC Budgam, ADC Budgam, GM DIC, PO ICDS, ACR, CPO, ACD, CMO, CEO, Officers from CRPF, District Officers of different departments and other concerned.
