No Further Extension; Schools to Reopen Across Kashmir on Tuesday : Official

Srinagar, July 7 (JKNS): Schools across Kashmir will reopen on Tuesday after the scheduled summer break, with revised timings put in place due to the prevailing heatwave conditions.

Speaking to news agency JKNS a senior government official said, all government and private schools across Kashmir division will resume classwork on Tuesday, July 8, as per schedule, bringing an end to the ongoing summer vacation.

“There is no change in the earlier announcement. All schools will reopen tomorrow. No extension in vacation has been granted.”

He said that in view of the prevailing weather conditions, revised school timings have been fixed to ensure student safety. “Schools located in municipal areas across all districts will operate from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM, while institutions in other belts will function from 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon,” the official said.

He further said that in addition to regular classroom sessions, students will be join supplementary online classes for two hours in the afternoon. Students will attend online learning sessions to make up for the lost teaching days,” he added.

Teachers will ensure there presence till the online classes are completed, official added.

The official reiterated that all arrangements have been put in place for smooth resumption of academics and urged parents, teachers, and institutions to cooperate with the revised guidelines. (JKNS)
