First Flight of 178 Hajj Pilgrims Lands in Srinagar, CM Omar Abdullah Receives Returnees

Srinagar, June 17 (JKNS): The first return flight carrying Hajj Pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir landed at Srinagar International Airport on Tuesday evening, marking the beginning of the repatriation process for the 2025 Hajj pilgrims.

Details available with news agency JKNS stated that the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah received Hajj pilgrims at the airport, as welcoming them after their sacred journey.

He greeted the returning pilgrims warmly and interacted with them, expressing joy over their safe arrival.

Executive Officer J&K Hajj Committee, Dr. Shujahat Qureshi told JKNS, “A total of 178 Hajj pilgrims 96 males and 82 females returned in the first flight, landed at 9:25pm.”

“All necessary arrangements including immigration, transportation, and facilitation desks are in place,” said Dr. Qureshi.

It is pertinent to mention this year a total of 3606 Haj pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir embarked on the sacred journey. (JKNS)
