Ladakh Admin Notifies Key Factory Act Appointments in Leh and Kargil

Leh, Jun 13 (JKNS): The Administration of Union Territory of Ladakh has formally appointed several key officers under the Factories Act, 1948, across Leh and Kargil districts.

In the first notification, as per news agency JKNS, the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, under Section 10 of the Factories Act, appointed the Medical Superintendents of SNM Hospital, Leh, and District Hospital, Kargil, as Certifying Surgeons within their respective districts. These officers will now serve as official Certifying Surgeons under the purview of the Factories Act to ensure compliance with health and safety norms for factory workers.

In a second notification issued the same day, the Administrative Secretary, Labour & Employment Department, UT Ladakh, was appointed as the Chief Inspector of Factories. Additionally, the Deputy/Under Secretary, Labour & Employment, has been appointed as the Joint Chief Inspector, and the Assistant Labour Commissioners of Leh and Kargil have been named as Deputy Chief Inspectors.

Both orders were issued in the name of the Lieutenant Governor and signed by Atul Singh Mankotia, JKAS, Under Secretary, Labour & Employment Department, UT Ladakh. (JKNS)
