Rajouri : On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma, the Motor Vehicles Department Rajouri on Saturday carried out a comprehensive enforcement drive to curb traffic violations across the district. The drive was led by ARTO Rajesh Gupta, assisted by MVI Rahul Singh and other staff of the department.
During the drive, a total of 32 challans were issued, amounting to a penalty sum of Rs. 67,900. Additionally, 4 vehicles were seized for serious violations.
The focus of the enforcement drive was on curbing the illegal practice of carrying goods in passenger vehicles, as well as tackling issues of overloading and overspeeding — which are among the leading causes of road accidents.
The Deputy Commissioner Rajouri reiterated the administration’s commitment to ensuring road safety and strict compliance with traffic norms in the district.
