Ganderbal, May 20 (JKNS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said that his administration is committed to ensuring the peaceful and safe conduct of the annual Amarnath Yatra and the Mela Kheer Bhawani in Jammu and Kashmir.

While speaking to reporters during his visit to Ganderbal, CM Omar as per news agency JKNS said, “We are putting all necessary arrangements in place for the smooth conduct of Mela Kheer Bhawani and the Amarnath Yatra. Security and administrative measures are being streamlined for the same.”

CM Omar said that the tourism sector has suffered in recent months. “The situation is not conducive for tourism at the moment, but once the Yatra concludes, we will hold consultations with stakeholders to chalk out a revival strategy,” he said. Omar added that several tour operators have expressed interest in reviving tourism in the region, and the government is optimistic about gradual recovery. (JKNS)
