Kharge, Rahul express sadness over Charminar fire tragedy

New Delhi: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Sunday expressed sadness over the fire tragedy in Charminar area of Hyderabad.

On his social media handle X, Kharge said, “I am deeply saddened by the devastating fire tragedy in the Charminar area of Hyderabad, which has claimed several precious lives. My heartfelt condolences go out to the families of the victims during this difficult time”.

Kharge said that he spoke to Chief Minister of Telangana, who assured, that the government is taking all necessary relief measures, including providing speedy and adequate compensation to those affected.

“I urge Congress workers to rally around the affected families and offer any assistance they can. Let us come together to support those in need and help them through this challenging period,” Kharge said.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi said, “The news of the devastating fire in Hyderabad, Telangana, resulting in the loss of many lives and injuries to several others, is deeply saddening.”

“In this difficult hour, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wish a speedy recovery to the injured,” the former Congress president added.

As many as 17 people were killed in the massive fire that broke out at Gulzar House near Charminar in the early hours of Sunday.
