New Delhi: After successful Operation Sindoor, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday took stock of latest security situation on the Western Border with top defence officials.

The meeting was attended by Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh and Vice Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal Narmdeshwar Tiwari.

Notably, on Tuesday, the DGMOs of India and Pakistan held talks and agreed to take steps towards immediate reduction of troops on the borders and forward areas and desist from firing shots.

The Indian Armed Forces on May 7 launched Operation Sindoor hitting nine infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The operation came following the killing of 26 tourists by terrorists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on April 22. UNI
