Op Sindoor a complete success: Air Marshal Bharti
FacebookTwitterWhatsappTelegram

New Delhi: India on Monday said that Operation Sindoor was a complete success and it achieved desired objectives, while inflicting heavy damage on Pakistan’s air defence system, including Turkiye-made missiles and various defence installations.

Air Marshal AK Bharti said while Pakistan’s military infrastructure was damaged by the airstrikes, Indian airbases continue to be operational and ready for strike against any misadventure by Pakistan.

Addressing a press conference here, Director General Air Operations Air Marshal AK Bharti along with Director General Military Operations Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai and Director General Naval Operations Vice Admiral A Pramod said, “All our military bases, all our systems continue to remain fully operational and ready to undertake any future mission, should the need arise”.

Air Marshal Bharti said that India’s fight was against terrorists and their support infrastructure and not against the military or civilians. “But it is sad that Pakistani army chose to fight.”

Giving details about the success of the Operation Sindoor, the Air Marshal said the Indian defence system not only intercepted Pakistani missiles and drones but also neutralize them, demonstrating India’s efficient and battle proven defence capabilities.

He also said that numerous waves of drones and unmanned combat aerial vehicles employed by Pakistan were thwarted by the indigenously developed soft and hard kill counter-UAS systems and the well-trained Indian Air Defence personnel.

Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai said that as India’s precise attacks on the terrorists were made without crossing LoC and international boundary, “we speculated that Pakistan would also respond similarly. Accordingly, we had prepared our air defence before hand”.

The Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems, electronic warfare resources, and air defence weapons included in the inventory were uniquely integrated with similar systems of the Indian Air Force, he said.

Joining the briefing, Vice Admiral AN Pramod said that Navy is monitoring round the clock potential areas of threat. “We are effectively using multiple sensors and inputs and maintaining continous surveillance to degrade or neutralize threats as they emerge.”

India has put in place a multi-layered air defence mechanism, which includes radars and surveillance systems. All these are conducted under the umbrella of comprehensive defence mechanism.
