Srinagar:- Justice Arun Palli took oath on Wednesday as the 38th Chief Justice of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court.
The ceremony as per news agency JKNS was held in Jammu, where he was sworn in by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha. Dignitaries including judges, officials, and Justice Palli’s family attended.
His appointment was announced by the Law Ministry on April 12, following the retirement of Justice Tashi Rabstan.
Justice Sanjeev Kumar had been the acting chief justice since April 9. Recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium, Justice Palli previously served in the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
With a career spanning civil to constitutional law, he became a High Court judge in 2013 and held various legal roles including Additional Advocate General for Punjab. (JKNS)
