Bandipora, Jun 24 (JKNS): SSP bandipora Harmeet Singh Meta conducted a visit to several Imam Badas in the sub division sumbal are of Bandipora district to review the arrangements for the upcoming Muharram.
The senior police official visited key Shia-dominated areas including Inderkoot, Nowgam, and surrounding regions. During his visit, he interacted with local residents and listened to their grievances regarding the arrangements.
Locals requested better security and infrastructure for the smooth observance of Muharram days . They emphasized the need for enhanced safety measures, especially during processions, and better coordination between authorities and community leaders.
SSP Bandipora was accompanied by SDPO Sumbal, SHO Sumbal, and other police officials. The team ensured that the concerns of the community would be addressed promptly to ensure peace and safety during the sacred month of Muharram. The visit marked a proactive step by the police to strengthen community relations and ensure a harmonious environment during religious observances. (JKNS)
