A senior official told news agency JKNS that acting on intelligence inputs, the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF deployed multiple surveillance and ambush teams in the area. “Suspicious movement was detected on the night of March 31, leading to a brief exchange of fire,” the official said.

Following the incident, extensive Search and Destroy Operations were launched on April 1. The Director General of Police (DGP), Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu, and Deputy Inspector General (DIG), along with top CRPF officials, are closely monitoring the situation.

As of now, no terrorist has been neutralized, and the search operation is in progress, official said. (JKNS)
