Teetwal : On the auspicious occasion of Navratras, the Save Sharda Committee Kashmir (Regd.), along with hundreds of devotees, organized a grand Ganga Aarti on the banks of the Kishenganga River at the Line of Control (LoC) in Teetwal, Kashmir.

The event witnessed a large gathering of devotees, reinforcing the cultural and religious significance of the region. Earlier in the day, a group of pilgrims from South India conducted a hawan at the historic Sharda Temple near the LoC, further emphasizing the spiritual revival of this ancient site.

The ghat, constructed by the District Administration and named after Swami Nand Lal Ji of Srinagar, has been open to yatris since last year. Swami Nand Lal Ji was the last saint to manage and run the Sharda Peeth, which is now located in District Neelum, PoK.

Speaking on the occasion, Ravinder Pandita, Chairman of Save Sharda Committee, participated in the Aarti and holy dip, urging the Jammu and Kashmir government to enhance the ghat’s infrastructure. He called for the construction of changing rooms, safety chains, and proper lighting, which would not only facilitate religious tourism but also promote border tourism in the region.

The event marks a significant step towards reviving Sharda Peeth’s spiritual legacy, fostering inter-regional religious ties, and boosting tourism along the LoC in Kashmir.
