RPs trained for effective IEC Campaign against Drug Abuse in B’pora

Bandipora : The District Administration Bandipora on Wednesday organised a training programme for resource persons designated for IEC campaign against drug abuse.
The training held at mini secretariat Bandipora was designed to empower resource persons with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead effective IEC campaign at grassroots level.
The training session was overseen by District Information Officer (DIO) Bandipora, Aadil Manzoor Wani who is also designated as coordinator IEC Campaign against drug abuse, and training was provided by Councellor Addiction Treatment Facility DH Bandipora, Junaid Ghayas Zargar.
The programme discussed effective measures to combat drug abuse aimed to empower resource persons to serve as vital links between those in need and the available treatment services besides discussed measures for effective execution of IEC campaign at Panchayat level.
Speaking on the occasion, DIO highlighted the importance of community-driven action in tackling the growing issue of drug addiction. He said, Drug abuse is a challenge that impacts every segment of society, and it demands a united front for promoting a healthy and drug-free environment.
The Counselor Addiction Treatment Facility, District Hospital, Bandipora highlighted the clinical aspects of addiction and the importance of compassionate support besides highlighted social, economic, and health consequences of drug addiction.
Among others, the programme was attended by resource persons from Education, Police, Youth services and sports, socials welfare and other concerned stakeholders.
