Omar-Led Govt’s Goal is to Make Kashmir Global Tourist Destination: Advisor to CM

Srinagar: Advisor to the Chief Minister on Wednesday said that there is need of importance of further strengthening Kashmir’s tourism sector, noting the pivotal role played by the Tulip Garden in kickstarting.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the opening of the tulip garden, the Advisor to CM Nasir Aslam as per news agency JKNS said, “This season has begun on a positive note due to the Tulip Garden, drawing a large number of tourists. To sustain and enhance this momentum, we must focus on improving infrastructure and facilities.”

He said the need for diversifying tourism attractions across the region, saying, “If we have a Tulip Garden in Srinagar, we should develop almond and cherry blossom zones elsewhere. Expanding such initiatives will boost tourism across the Kashmir.”

The Advisor stressed that focusing only on one destination won’t yield long-term results. “Diversifying tourism products and destinations is key to making tourism sustainable and ensuring year-round visitor interest,” he stated.

He also underscored the importance of supporting the local population dependent on the tourism industry. “By enhancing infrastructure, creating new attractions, and ensuring sustainability, we can strengthen tourism as a key economic driver for Kashmir,” he added.

Nasir said, “Omar-Led Government’s goal is to make Kashmir a global tourist destination with world-class facilities that benefit both visitors and the local economy.” (JKNS)
