Kishtwar: District Administration Kishtwar organised a significant training session to train 700 individuals as resource persons to conduct the Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign against drugs under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA).
The training covered varied aspects of the IEC campaign, with a particular focus on the role and responsibilities of the resource persons in the field. The participants were also educated on the process of updating information on the NMBA application to ensure accurate and real-time data.
Under the NMBA, over 200 events will be conducted across all Panchayats, Revenue villages, and Municipal wards starting from April 2025. These events will be held every Monday in each block across the district, aiming to raise awareness and educate the public on the detrimental effects of drug abuse.
The campaign will be a collaborative effort with active participation of officers from the Police Department, Poshan (ICDS) Department, Rural Development Department (RDD), Excise and Taxation Department, Health Department, Education Department, Youth Services & Sports Department, JKSRL/NRLM Department.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajesh Kumar Shavan was the Chief Guest. He emphasized the importance of close coordination among all departments and officials. He urged everyone to work together to ensure the success of these events, which aim to curb the growing menace of drug abuse in the region.
Resource Persons from Tehsils and blocks like Paddar, Chatroo, Mughal Maidan and Dachan were imparted training through an online platform to ensure accessibility and wide participation.
The event was attended by ACR Idrees lone, ASP Pawan Sharma, DSWO Zubair Ahmed, TSWO Rajesh Kumar, Dr. Wajid ATF besides staff of Social Welfare Department.
