Environmental change global not restricted to Bandipora only: J&K Govt

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir government on Saturday said that environmental change is global and it is not restricted to Bandipora only.

Replying to the question of MLA Nizam Uddin Bhat, Minister for Jal Shakti Department as per news agency JKNS said that environmental change is a global phenomenon and not restricted to Bandipora Constituency only.

In Bandipora Constituency there has been reports of some depletion of water level due to less precipitation but it has not affected the normal irrigation practices.” He said.

“Various steps are being taken to address the problem prior to the onset of irrigation season by way of Desilting, installation of Portable Pumps etc. These measures are in place and were also taken during the last season to combat the crises.” He added.—(JKNS)
