Srinagar : Police in Budgam organized an awareness programme on three new criminal laws at SAM Degree College Budgam. This program aimed to enlighten the faculty, staff and students about the latest developments in the Indian criminal legal framework. The laws discussed include Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam.
The programme was chaired by DySP DAR Shri Ghulam Mohiuddin, along with Insp. Muzamil Ahmad and was attended by the principal, teaching staff and students of the institution. Additionally, Bar association Budgam members and other Police officers were also present on the Occasion.
The chairing officers and legal experts explained the nuances of the new laws, clarifying their implications and stressing the importance of adherence to legal statutes for maintaining societal order.
The programme witnessed active participation from students and teaching staff who engaged in interactive discussions, questions and sought clarifications on the legal provisions presented. The new laws include provisions that ensure justice for the victims of crime and the society at large. Modernization of the investigation process through the use of technology has been included.
