DC Kulgam chairs Distt Skill Committee meet

Reviews progress, future action plan; discusses Training modules

KULGAM: A meeting of District Skill Committee (DSC) was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan at the mini-secretariat Kulgam.
The meeting focused on reviewing the progress of the District Skill Development Plan (DSDP) of the current financial year and discussing the action plan for DSDP 2025-26.
During the meeting, the progress of skill development courses being undertaken in the district was reviewed. The status of enrollment and quality of training at Govt Polytechnic College Kulgam, ITI Kulgam, ITI Khuribatpora, ITI Kund and private institutions was reviewed.
The Chairman directed the member secretary to ensure all the students in these institutions are also thoroughly trained about the available government schemes including PMEGP, Mission Yuva, HADP, PMFME, AIF etc and their registration is done at the end of the course with the relevant schemes so that their livelihoods are secured through self employment and entrepreneurship ventures.
The different departments were directed to send resource persons to these technical institutions for the same.
Among others, the meeting was attended by the General Manager, DIC, Principal Polytechnic Kulgam, CEO, Assistant Director Handicrafts/Handloom Kulgam; Superintendent ITI, Kulgam, Kund, Kuribatpora.
