Kupwara: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan Thursday convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the implementation of Mission YUVA programme in the district.
Addressing the meeting, the DC impressed upon all the officers to work with added zeal and dedication to ensure smooth and successful implementation of the ambitious Mission YUVA programme in the district.
She emphasized the need for developing an ecosystem for unemployed education youth to boost entrepreneurship and employment in the district. She also highlighted the role of the Mission YUVA app, which is integral to the mission’s outreach and support services.
The AD Employment briefed the meeting through a detailed PowerPoint presentation about the objectives and modalities involved in implementing the Mission YUVA in the district.
Mission YUVA, a youth-centric initiative launched by the J&K Government, aims to empower young individuals by providing them with various opportunities for skill development, employment and entrepreneurial ventures.
It was informed that the objective of the Mission YUVA is to generate new employment opportunities through enterprise creation especially for high-skilled unemployed youth so that they can earn their livelihood with dignity.
Regarding the institutional mechanism for implementing the Mission, it was informed that 20 Small Business Development Units (SBDU) have to be established in the district under the supervision of DC. The role of the SBDU is to identify relevant business activities for the district and create model Detailed Project Reports. Besides, 80 Business Help Desks have to be established at sub divisional level under the supervision of concerned SD
The meeting held a threadbare discussion on various other issues for proper and successful implementation of the Mission YUVA programme in the district.
GM DIC Kupwara, CPO, SDM Lolab, AD Employment and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
