A Blood Donation Camp was organized at the Command Hospital (WC) Chandimandir cantt on 08 Mar 2025 on International Women’s day. Blood donors presented to the camp with commendable enthusiasm in a selfless and noble act to donate blood. A total of 41 people including 26 ladies attended the camp.
During the camp a total of 20 units of blood were collected. These included 15 donations from male donors and 05 donations from female donors. These life saving blood units will be used for critically ill patients admitted to CH (WC), which caters to a large patient load in the region. The enthusiasm and zest shown by the volunteers for the noble cause was appreciated by one and all.
All the donors were given pre-donation counselling and motivational talk by the Blood Centre staff. On the spot Hemoglobin estimation was done to screen the blood donors. Donors whose hemoglobin was below the minimum cut-off for blood donation were counselled by Lt Col Shilpi Saxena (Hematopathologist) for further evaluation at the Dept of Lab Sciences.
