Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Police have attached properties worth lakhs in cases of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) in the Gool area of Ramban district.
The police spokesman here on Friday said that in a significant move to combat terrorism, the Ramban Police have attached five properties, including agricultural land measuring 23.13 kanals, valuing Rs 7986377 under section 25 of the UAPA, 1967.
He said that the properties attached have been recorded in revenue records, and notices prohibiting their sale or transfer have been served under the UAPA.
The attachment was executed in the presence of a police team and an executive magistrate, ensuring full compliance with legal procedures.
“This action marks a significant milestone in the ongoing investigation into unlawful and subversive activities in the region. It highlights the police’s dedication to neutralising the threats to national security and maintaining peace and order,” he said.
He added that the Ramban Police, in collaboration with other agencies, remain resolute in their mission to take a stringent measure against individuals and entities involved in activities threatening the sovereignty and integrity of the nation.
The properties attached are of Siraj Din, son of Movalkote; Mohd Ashraf; Mushtaq Ahmed; Riyaz Ahmed of Dalwah; and Farooq Ahmed of Bhimdassa (all from District Ramban).
