He said the AI Lab will function as a separate entity within the Science & Technology Department, facilitating multidisciplinary collaboration among industry, researchers, educators, and technologists.

Highlighting the transformative impact of AI, Sinha said, “We cannot imagine a future without AI. It will profoundly influence every aspect of our lives. That’s why it is critical to equip our youth with AI knowledge, reskill and upskill the workforce to stay ahead of AI trends, and enhance J&K’s competitiveness.”

Sinha added that AI Labs in universities will work directly with local industries to integrate AI-driven discoveries into businesses. The research will also focus on analyzing AI’s current use and exploring ways to enhance its adoption to boost productivity and profitability.—(JKNS)
