DC Kulgam reviews arrangements for Ramdhan, Directs uninterrupted water, electricity supply at peak hours

Kulgam: The Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Athar Aamir Khan on Tuesday convened a meeting of officers to review and finalize the arrangements for ensuing holy month of Ramadan.
During the meeting, DC instructed Officers of KPDCL and Jal Shakti to ensure uninterrupted electricity and water supply to the consumers during the month of Ramadan especially at the Sehri and Iftar times.
Emphasizing on the sanitation of towns and municipality areas, DC directed Executive Officers of Municipal Committees to launch special cleanliness drives in the district with focus on roads, lanes, drains and regular lifting of waste from markets.
He also directed concerned for installation of more lights in their respective towns.
Concerned officers and departments were instructed to carry special market checking squads to keep check on profiteering, hoarding and overcharging by shopkeepers.
Moreover, availability of essentials in the market was also reviewed during the meeting. While traffic authorities were directed to ensure availability of transport in evening hours.
The meeting among others was attended by ADDC, Mohammad Altaf Khan, ADC Viqar Ahmed Giri, ACR Mushtaq Ahmad, ACP, Exen Jal Shakti, Tehsildars, AEEs of PHE, PDD, EOs, officers from Sheep and Animal husbandries besides Auqaf Committee members.
