Jammu: One person died after a bus carrying pilgrims from Katra to Delhi fell into a deep gorge near Manda Naka, Panjtirthi, Jammu, this evening.

Police spokesperson in a statement issued here to news agency JKNS reads that a bus carrying at least 17 pilgrims from Katra to Delhi fell into a deep gorge near Manda.

“All 17 passengers have been rescued,” adding that most passengers sustained minor or no injuries and were shifted to GMC Jammu for treatment. Their condition is stated to be stable.

However, the driver of the vehicle died, while efforts are on to retrieve his body, adding that Police, SDRF, Fire, and Emergency Services are on the spot. (JKNS)
