New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday congratulated Rekha Gupta for being elected as the new Chief Minister of Delhi and said she will fulfil Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolve to make Delhi one of the top capitals of the world.

On social media handle X, Shah said, “I extend my hearty congratulations and best wishes to Mrs Rekha Gupta ji on being elected the leader of the BJP Legislative Party.”

I am confident that the BJP government under your leadership will work day and night to fulfill the hopes and expectations with which the mothers and sisters of Delhi have blessed the BJP,” Shah said.

The 50-year-old Shalimar Bagh MLA was named the new Delhi chief minister of Delhi. She had defeated Aam Aadmi Party’s leader, Bandana Kumari, in the recently held Assembly election.
