JAMMU: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha attended the 6th Annual Day Celebration of Guidance & Career Counselling Cell for Youth Development (GCC), Gurha Slathia at Samba, today.
In his address, the Lieutenant Governor lauded the efforts of volunteers and everyone associated with the Guidance and Career Counselling Cell for Youth Development in imparting skill development and coaching to the youth to ensure their brighter future.
“This unique youth organisation is a role model for the nation. GCC has adopted a futuristic approach for the youth-centric initiatives to enhance the quality of their pursuits and enabling them to pursue their dreams. The focused effort to study, understand, develop and conserve cultural and intellectual heritage is truly inspiring,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
He said the way GCC has designed its entire programs clearly reflects the youth’s desire to adopt a futuristic approach.
“I want youth of J&K to be daring, adventurous and strong. I want our youth to be unshakably strong in their morals and ideals. I firmly believe that our youth must show the way to the world by carrying age-old traditional values in one hand and modern scientific tools in the other,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
The Lieutenant Governor observed that the speedy and inclusive development of society largely depends on productivity of its youth.
To realize the progress that we have envisaged for J&K, we need to secure the health and well-being of our youth at local level. GCC is working with administration to achieve this goal through infrastructure and coaching, he said.
The Lieutenant Governor also spoke on the steps taken by the government under the guidance of Hon’ble Prime Minister, empowering the youth to lead the development journey of Jammu Kashmir and the nation.
“Future-oriented and progressive policies in sectors like education, industries, skill development, sports, agriculture, infrastructure, innovation, entrepreneurship, and transparent and merit-based recruitments have kindled brighter hope for our talented youth,” the Lieutenant Governor further added.
He also appreciated the endeavours of Guidance & Career Counselling Cell for Youth Development aimed at women empowerment and initiatives like mass campaign against drug abuse, competitive exams preparations, leadership-personality development, interview preparations, and sports related activities.
The Lieutenant Governor also paid homage to the Army Bravehearts, Freedom Fighters and other great personalities of Gurha Slathia and recalled their contribution to the nation.
Sh Surjit Singh Slathia, Member of Legislative Assembly, Samba; Sh Rajesh Sharma, Deputy Commissioner, Samba; Sh Sudarshan Singh Slathia DDC Member; senior officials; members of Guidance and Counselling Cell for Youth Development (GCC) and youth in large number were present.
