Srinagar, Jan 30 (JKNS): The crescent of the month of Shabaan has been sighted, and the first shabaan will be on 31st January.
Grand Mufti J&K, Nasir-ur-Islam, told news agency JKNS, confirmed the sighting of the crescent and officially announced the date of 1st Shabaan as 31st of January.
“The crescent has been sighted, we have received witness of the crecent sightings”, Mufti Nasir said.
It is worth mentioning, this month also has a night of prayer also called as Shab E Bharat, which holds spiritual significance for muslim across the globe. (JKNS)
