Govt Deptts, Educational Institutions celebrate National Voters’ Day

Jammu : The National Voters’ Day was celebrated by departments and educational institutions by hosting solemn pledges and public engagement activities.

Directorate of Agriculture Jammu: The Directorate of Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare Jammu hosted a pledge ceremony which was led by Director S. Arvinder Singh Reen. The event was attended by senior officers and staff of the Agriculture Department. Director highlighted the importance of National Voters’ Day in reinforcing the democratic fabric of India.

Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu: On the occasion of National Voters’ Day, a pledge taking ceremony was organized at Sheep Husbandry Department, Jammu. Director Dr. Syed Moin-ul-Haq administered the National Voters’ Day Pledge to all officers/officials.

Jammu Municipal Corporation: Jammu Municipal Corporation organized a function to celebrate 15th National Voters’ Day in its premises here under the aegis of the JMC Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav. Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner highlighted the importance of vote and massive participation of voters in the democratic process. He said that the primary objective of National Voters’ Day is to raise awareness about the significance of voting and encourage citizens, especially the younger generation, to exercise their right to franchise.

CMO Office Doda: On the occasion of National Voters’ Day 2025, a pledge ceremony was organized at the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Office, Doda, under the chairmanship of Chief Medical Officer Doda Dr. Om Kumar. The CMO led the gathering in taking the National Voters’ Day pledge, reaffirming their commitment to free, fair, and transparent elections.

GDC Marh: To commemorate the establishment of the Election Commission of India on 25th January 1950 Government Degree College Marh organized a Seminar on the theme “Why is Voters Awareness important in Democratic state” to emphasize the importance of voting and pride in electoral participation under the guidance of Principal. Prof (Dr.)Rakesh Kumar Koul. A pledge was undertaken by the Department of Political Science to motivate young voters to exercise their privilege to cast a vote in free and fair elections in a free democratic country. About 20 students participated in the seminar, which provided them a platform to deepen their understanding of the significance of voting.
GCW Parade: Government College for Women SVEEP Cell (Systematic Voters Electoral Education Program) organised two activities to celebrate 15th National Voters’ Day under the patronage of Principal Dr Ravender Tickoo. The Electoral Literacy Club organised Essay writing and Painting, competition on the theme “Emerging Trends in Voting behaviour “and My Vote my Right I vote for sure. The faculty members Dr Renu Angurana, Dr Sushma Chib and Dr Menaka Thapa were the jury members. The aim of the program was to enable, empower and encourage every citizen to register as a voter and cast their vote in every election.

Govt. Higher Secondary School Bhalra, Bhaderwah, observed National Voters Day with great enthusiasm on Saturday. The event focused on educating students and NCC cadets about the importance of exercising their right to vote in a democratic society. Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Koul, Associate NCC Officer, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the crucial role of voters in strengthening democracy. He led the National Voters Day pledge, which was enthusiastically taken by all students and NCC cadets.
