Pune: General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), unveiled the 10th edition of SAMMAAN Magazine during the 9th Armed Forces Veterans Day Celebrations held in Pune. This special edition of the magazine not only serves as a valuable resource for the veterans but also celebrates the enduring bond shared between the Indian Army and its extended family.
The 10th edition features key initiatives undertaken by the Directorate of Indian Army Veterans (DIAV), including Project NAMAN, Chatbot SAMBANDH, and VSK+. It highlights the Indian Army’s relentless commitment to the welfare of veterans, reflecting the core ethos of “Taking Care of Our Own.” The magazine also offers updates from various veteran welfare organisations, showcasing the significant strides made in enhancing the quality of life for veterans and their families. The magazine was also unveiled simultaneously pan India during the Veterans Day celebrations at respective locations.
This edition also brings forward inspiring success stories of veterans who have excelled in the civilian sector, exemplifying their resilience, adaptability, and the continued contribution they make to society.
As SAMMAAN Magazine marks its tenth anniversary, it stands as a testament to the evolving role of DIAV and its innovative initiatives aimed at empowering and supporting the veteran community. It not only highlights the achievements of veterans but also serves as an invaluable tool in connecting and engaging the community with the broader initiatives of the Indian Army.
General Dwivedi’s unveiling of this milestone edition underscores the importance of acknowledging the contributions of our veterans and ensuring that their needs continue to be met with dedication and care.
