Doda Police Files Chargesheets in Two UAPA Cases

SSP Doda reaffirms commitment to curbing militancy and dismantling logistical support systems

Doda: In its ongoing efforts to curb militancy and target Over Ground Workers (OGWs) supporting militant groups in the region, Doda Police has filed chargesheets in two separate cases under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). The chargesheets have been presented before the Hon’ble NIA Court in Doda for judicial determination.

in a statement issued here to news agency JKNS reads, that all these accused persons have covertly or overtly supported the militant groups in Doda district by providing them food and other logistic things.

The first case, registered under FIR No. 70/2024 at Gandoh Police Station, involves one accused namely namely Shoket Ali S/O Ghulam Ali R/O Sharakhi (Katyara) Tehsil Bhaderwah District Doda.

He has been charged under 19 Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 whereas against three killed foreign terrorists offences under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 307/120-B/121/122/ IPC as well as Sections 7 and 27 of the Arms Act and several provisions of the UAPA has been established, it reads. In the second case, registered under FIR No. 14/2024 at Police Station Dessa, the chargesheet names four individuals. The accused include Muneer Hussain S/O Ghulam Hussain R/O Malwas A/P Dabra Pranoo Tehsil & District Doda, Tanveer Ahmed S/O Abdul Samad R/O Nilsoo Kulhand Tehsil & District Doda, Noor Alam S/O Sayad Walie R/O Baggar Tehsil Assar District Doda and Kunj Lal S/O Tarloku R/O Herani Assar Tehsil Assar District Doda.The case was investigated by DySP Hqrs Doda.

He said that the police reiterated their commitment in addressing both active militancy and the networks of support that sustain such activities. This action forms part of a broader strategy to dismantle the logistical and financial systems enabling terrorism in the region.

SSP Doda has reaffirmed the resolve of J and K Police to maintain peace and security by taking decisive action against those involved in unlawful activities and ensuring that perpetrators face justice.

Police are keeping a keen eye on the activities of all those who are either garnering support to the ANEs or providing them logistic support for sustaining in this hilly district and further efforts are underway to identify and book other individuals linked to militancy, reads the statement. (JKNS)
