DC Kupwara takes detailed tour of Lolab sub division

DC inspects arrangements for Lolab Snow Festival, pays surprise visit to SDH Sogam

Kupwara: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan on Thursday held a detailed tour of Lolab sub division and took stock of the arrangements for conduct of the Lolab Snow Festival and other functioning of essential services after recent snowfall.
SDM Lolab, Javaid Masoodi and Tehsildar Sogam accompanied the Deputy Commissioner.
During the tour, the Deputy Commissioner visited Kariwan Dever where Snow Festival by District Administration is scheduled to be held.
She inspected the facilities to be provided to the people who will visit the place during the snow festival and directed the concerned officers to ensure fool proof arrangements in place so that the visitors will enjoy the different activities during the festival.
Talking to media persons, the Deputy Commissioner appealed the people to come in large number to enjoy the scenic beauty of Lolab during the Snow Festival adding that the District Administration Kupwara has made adequate arrangements to make the Festival more vibrant and successful.
She also inspected the snow clearance operation going on major roads of Lolab sub division.
The Deputy Commissioner also paid a surprise visit to Sub District Hospital Sogam during which she inspected the functioning of all sections of the hospital which include OPD, IPD, Dialysis Unit, Labour Room, USG, X-Ray, Jan Aushadi Store, Pharmacy, Ophthalmology and Dental Section.
She interacted with the patients and attendants and enquired about the services provided by the Hospital.
The DC also interacted with the Doctors and Para medical staff and enjoined upon them to ensure seamless functioning of the hospital so that the people living in far flung areas of Lolab sub division do not face any inconvenience in getting proper healthcare services.
She also enquired from the BMO regarding the availability of essential drugs and was informed that sufficient stock of drugs are available in the hospital to cater the needs of the patients.
The Deputy Commissioner on her visit to Kariwan Dever, inspected newly established Receiving Station Diver while she got feedback from the concerned officials regarding the power supply schedule to different areas falling under the Receiving Station. She directed the officials to ensure adherence to curtailment schedule so that the people are provided electricity as per schedule.
