While no official statement was released, sources revealed that the Home Secretary was briefed on the current security scenario both in the hinterland and along the Line of Control (LoC).

The sources said that the Home Secretary expressed “satisfaction” with the multi-pronged strategies employed by the security grid to combat terrorism but urged forces to intensify anti-militancy operations to achieve the goal of a “terror-free Jammu and Kashmir” at the earliest.

The Army briefed the Home Secretary on the situation along the LoC. It is learned that they were asked to maintain a tight vigil and ensure zero infiltration during the winter months.

The meeting also addressed J&K’s preparedness for the upcoming winter season, focusing on operational adjustments and logistics to ensure smooth functioning during harsh weather conditions.

Later, the Home Secretary visited Srinagar’s city center, Lal Chowk, and paid tribute at the Balidan Stambh (Martyrs Memorial).
