Srinagar: The Kashmir Valley welcomed the New Year with bright celebrations and festive fervor as people from all walks of life welcomed 2025 with joy and enthusiasm, including tourist from parts of India and outside.

Across towns and villages, including tourist destinations, the spirit of renewal and hope resonated amid cold winter nights.

According to the details available with the news agency—JKNS the Srinagar city saw a notable celebration devoid of any tension amid as people dances near Bulward Srinagar and other parts of valley to express their Joy.

Beautiful lakes and landmarks have been illuminated, like the Dal Lake for a splendid view of beauty to visitors during this festival period.

Hotels, restaurants and cafes organized programmes for special menus with traditional delicacies of the state, some cultural music besides others.

Notably, tourism industry also witnessed boost as visitors from outside the region thronged to Gulmarg and Pahalgam, and other places where resorts hosted bonfires and fireworks to mark the occasion.

Similarly, the people used social media to disseminate messages of hope, unity, and a brighter future.

“It is a good feeling to share this New Year with the world and especially being in Kashmir, said Sameer Ahmad, a visitor from Delhi. He said despite the challenges, celebrations remind us of how resilient and beautiful Kashmir is,” he said.

Notably, while the festivities remained joyous, officials ensured adequate security arrangements across valley, and the celebrations concluded on a positive note. As the valley steps into 2025, the mood remains hopeful for progress, harmony, and opportunities.—(JKNS)
