Srinagar: As Kashmir plains received first snowfall of the season on Friday, city centre Lal Chowk transformed into a winter wonderland, captivating tourists and locals alike.
With snowflakes gently blanketing the streets, tourists couldn’t contain their excitement, some even breaking into impromptu dances and cheers in front of the historic clock tower (Ghanta Ghar).
Reports said the snowfall brought joy across Kashmir, with the historic clock tower becoming the center of attraction, as tourists were seen enjoying the snowfall.
Simran, from Delhi, said, “The snowfall is magical. It is like a dream come true to experience Kashmir in its winter glory. Lal Chowk looks breathtaking with the snow covering every inch of the city. This experience will stay with you forever.”
In Shopian, the land was dusted with white, making it a perfect spot for winter sports enthusiasts. “We have come here for the first time, and the view is incredible,” said Mohammad Imran, a visitor from Gujarat.
Also, in Anantnag, the old town was adorned with a thick layer of snow, adding an old-world charm to its streets. “The snow in Anantnag has made everything look so peaceful. It is the perfect winter escape,” said Amir from Mumbai.
Pulwama, also known for its lush fields and orchards, was all draped in white
