Pulwama: An elderly woman died under mysterious circumstances at her son-in-law’s house in Gudoora, located in the Pulwama district of South Kashmir, on Monday.

Officials told the agency JKNS that an elderly woman from Looswani Newa collapsed at the residence of her son-in-law in Pulwama.

They said reports suggest there were allegations that she was beaten by her son-in-law before being taken to the hospital.

The woman was identified as Khurshi Begum (62), wife of the late Ab Rahman Dar of Looswani Newa.

Meanwhile, the woman was shifted to the hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival. Authorities have taken the body into custody and initiated proceedings to determine the cause of death.

Moreover, a senior police officer told JKNS, one lady was brought to the hospital, declared dead on arrival, with no visible injury marks as such. The allegation against the son-in-law is being looked into. We have initiated inquest proceedings to ascertain the cause of death as of now. — (JKNS)
