“The matter has already been taken up by Sakina Itoo Sahiba as soon as this issue was brought to the attention of the government,” the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said in a tweet on X.

Additionally, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Chief Spokesperson and MLA from Zadibal, Tanvir Sadiq, also said that the chapter on the revered saint Sheikh-ul-Alam would remain in the curriculum. “The Education Minister has directed the Principal Secretary to address and rectify the issue found in the PDF version of the textbooks,” Sadiq said.

Notably, the issue surfaced after concerns were raised regarding discrepancies in the digital version of the textbooks, prompting widespread discussions. However, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said the matter will be swiftly resolved.—(JKNS)
