Speaking with the news agency JKNS, the Regional Passport Officer (RPO) for Kashmir and Ladakh said they are having about 500 appointments daily at the Srinagar Passport Kendra.

He said most applicants are able to complete their formalities and application on the same day, and if not, we guide them to ensure they don’t face any issues.

He added, once the application process is completed, the verification is sent to the police, CID, and other departments, and the average passport issuance timeline is fifteen days, but in cases delays or documentation issues, the process can be completed in as one month.

He also said, to address grievances directly, the office has instructed security and staff members to allow applicants with concerns to meet him personally. “If anyone has grievances or issues related to passports, I have asked the team to ensure they can meet me,” he said.—(JKNS)
