Traffic restrictions imposed on Gurez-Bandipora road after snowfall

Srinagar: The Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Gurez has issued an order regulating traffic on the Gurez-Bandipora road following recent snowfall, which has affected road conditions.

According to the order, a copy of which was accessed by the news agency JKNS, the movement of heavy motor vehicles (HMVs), such as trucks, tippers, and buses, is strictly prohibited on the route until further notice.

It reads as: only light vehicles like SUMOs, Scorpios, 207s, Gypsies, and 4×4 vehicles equipped with anti-skid chains will be permitted to ply on the road.

Similarly, this measure has been taken to ensure the safety of travelers and maintain smooth traffic flow under the prevailing weather conditions. Travelers are advised to follow the guidelines and exercise caution while commuting on this route.—(JKNS)
