Police arrests 3 drug peddlers in Srinagar, Sopore

Srinagar: Police have arrested three drug peddlers in Srinagar & Sopore and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A Police party of Police Post Urdu Bazar during Naka checking at Budgeer Kawdara crossing arrested two drug peddlers namely Milad Bashir Bhat son of Late Bashir Ahmad Bhat resident of Dolipora Kawdara and Toyab Ahmad Shekh son of Late Mohammad Shafi Sheikh resident of Surnai Mohalla Kawdara. During search, about 16 grams of Charas-like substance and 210 grams of Ganja-like substance was recovered from their possession. In this connection, case FIR No. 53/2024 under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station M R Gunj and investigation into the matter has been initiated.

In Sopore, a police party led by incharge Police Post Warpora under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Shri Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS and SHO PS Sopore, during naka checking at Dangerpora Crossing apprehended one drug peddler namely Showkat Ahmad Dar son of Habib-u-llah Dar resident of Reban Sopore. During search, police party was able to recover 140 grams of charas like substance from his possession. In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 253/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sopore & investigation has been initiated.
