Srinagar: The Kashmir and Jammu regions recorded a sharp dip in minimum temperatures today, marking the onset of cold winter weather conditions across the region.

As per the details accessed by the news agency JKNS, in Kashmir, Srinagar recorded -0.5°C, while Qazigund was at -1.0°C. Other notable sub-zero temperatures included Pahalgam (-2.8°C), Kupwara (0.1°C), Gulmarg (-3.4°C), Sonamarg (-2.2°C), and Zojila (-18.0°C).

The details said, areas like Anantnag (-2.1°C), Budgam (-1.3°C), and Shopian (-3.5°C) also reported sharp cold conditions.

Meanwhile, the Jammu region saw comparatively milder conditions. Jammu recorded 8.7°C, while Banihal was at 0.2°C and Batote at 3.2°C. Other locations such as Kishtwar (3.9°C) and Padder (-4.4°C) highlighted variations across the region.

Meanwhile, Ladakh’s cold snap continues with Leh recording -7.2°C and Kargil at -5.6°C. The extreme temperatures are being closely monitored by local weather officials as the region braces for further winter conditions.—(JKNS)
