Inmate Shabir Shah’s Health Stable, No Truth to Rumours: Tihar Jail Authorities

Srinagar, June 27 (JKNS): Amid growing speculation on social media about the health of jailed separatist leader Shabir Ahmad Shah, the Tihar Jail authorities on Friday clarified that his medical condition is stable and that all necessary care is being provided.

In a statement issued by the PRO to Director General of Prisons, Headquarters Tihar Jail, New Delhi, as per news agency JKNS, it was stated that, “Some rumours are reportedly being circulated in social media regarding the critical health condition of inmate Mr. Shabir Ahmad Shah S/o Mr. Ghulam Ahmad Shah.”

The statement added that, “In this regard, it is stated that the said inmate has been regularly provided with all medical attention and his condition is stable. He was referred to Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi, on 26/06/2025 for OPD consultation with respect to complaints of some lower urinary tract symptoms and was admitted for further tests/evaluation.”

The officials in a statement further confirmed that all his test reports have come back normal and that he continues to receive appropriate medical treatment at the hospital. (JKNS)
