Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Kupwara and also recovered contraband substance and cash from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police party of Police Station Kupwara arrested two drug peddlers identified as Faizan Ahmad Zarger S/o Reyaz Ahmad Zarger and Tulha Zarger S/o Late Gh Hassan Zarger, both residents of Tikker, Kupwara and during patrolling at Regipora Sumo Stand and searches recovered 4 grams of Brown Sugar and Cash amounting to ?35,000/- from their possession.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 279/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Kupwara besides initiating further investigation Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement reiterated its commitment to curb the menace of drug abuse and trafficking in the valley and appealed people to cooperate with it by providing information related to drug-related activities to local police stations.
