He thanked the people for the landslide victory of Mahayuti in Maharashtra Assembly elections, which showed that people have faith in Mahayuti.

He said, “It is the first time we are meeting after declaration of the election results. We have got an

unprecedented victory in this election. People have not given such a result in last many years.”

“In the last two-and-a-half years, Mahayuti has done a great job. We have carried out many welfare schemes for people of Maharashtra,” he asserted.

Shinde said that he spoke with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah over phone on Tuesday and assured them full support of Shiv Sena for face of Maharashtra chief minister.

He said, “Whatever decision is taken by Modi and Shah, the Shiv Sena will abide by it.”

He reiterated that “I told Modi and Shah that they should take a decision on the CM’s candidate and that would be final for us.”

He said, “We carry forward the thoughts of Balasaheb Thackeray and Anand Dighe. We were told by both Shah and Modi that we stand behind you like a mountain.”

Speaking further, the caretaker CM said, “I addressed about 80 to 90 rallies. I also worked as a simple worker. I think that the CM means a common man. So, there was no obstacle in communicating with people.”

“I did not work to gain popularity… Instead, we tried to give what we could as a government. I can

say once again that the central government stood like a mountain. In two-and-a-half years, we got lakhs of crores of funds from the centre for development,” he added.
